1) FOUNDING In 2006, technical directors Hanshi Jean Chalamon (Butokukai Europe), Hanshi Rod Sanford (Zen Bei Butoku Kai), Hanshi Louis Jemison (Zen Bei Butoku Kai) and Kyoshi Stephan Peitz (Butokukai Germany) changed the name of Butokukai International (1976) to KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. This with the approval of Hanshi Robert Leong, O'Sensei Richard Kim's longtime companion. As a consequence, the club emblem was changed according to the design by Stephan Peitz to distinguish it from the DNBK. The KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI was born.

2) PURPOSE OF KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI The purpose of the association is to promote the traditional martial art of Shorinji Ryu, consisting of Karate Do, Okinawa Kobudo, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and meditation. The purpose of the statute is realized in particular by teaching and learning the martial art of Shorinji Ryu, holding sporting events and through national and international exchange. The association pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes. He is selflessly active; it does not primarily pursue its own economic purposes.

3) MANIFESTO OF THE KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI The literature written by Richard Kim and Jean Chalamon serves as a "directive" tool for the cultivation of the martial arts of Shorinji Ryu for all responsible persons of the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. Every "official member" is asked to orient themselves towards these scriptures when teaching Shorinji Ryu.

4) MEMBERSHIP IN KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI a) Official Member The Branch Chiefs, Technical Directors and the Dojo leaders are listed as "Official Members" by paying the annual membership fee. Persons certified as black belts https://www.shorinjiryu.info/shorinjiryucertified/ are considered "official members", provided that no exclusion has taken place at international or national level and there is a dojo membership in an official dojo. The list will be continued as an eternal list, there will be no deletions if you are excluded from the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. 5) TECHNICAL DIRECTOR For the martial arts of Shorinji Ryu within the association KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI for life. He is the authority above the presidency. Technical Director: Meijin Jean Chalamon. a) Succession plan There will no longer be a technical director in this form. The national technical directors are encouraged to engage in international exchange with each other. They are mandatory based on the purpose of the statute and the manifesto.

President Prerequisite: Hanshi, 8th Dan Duties: Official representative of KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. d) Vice President Prerequisite: Kyoshi, 6th Dan Duties: Official representative of KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. e) General secretary Prerequisite: Kyoshi, 6th Dan Responsibilities: Administrative activities, press work, certification body, certifies documents as a second person, election officer. f) Election of the Presidency The elections are secret. The general secretary organizes the election as election officer. The election takes place annually in November. The election must be recorded. The technical directors are entitled to vote. The Technical Directors propose candidates for the Presidency. Each Branch has only one vote, regardless of the number of Technical Directors. Majority voting applies. The result of the election will be announced on November 8th, the anniversary of Richard Kim's death. g) Election of the presidency In an extraordinary election, the executive committee can be voted out of office by the assembly of representatives with a 2/3 majority and new elections can be called.

8) BRANCH CHIEFS They represent the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI in administrative matters of the martial arts of Shorinji Ryu on a national level. Within a national association, the Branch Chief is appointed. This must be designated by the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI as Technical Director. Branch chiefs are autonomous within their country as defined by KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI. The presidium can revoke this position within the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI for important reasons. A structuring within the countries in the manner of the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI would be desirable.

11) THE LOGO a) KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI The logo expresses the affiliation to KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI in the dojo and at official events. It is obligatory for all certified members to wear the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI logo on the left breast of the "kimono". At the same time, the dojo logo can also be worn. The number of two logos on the kimono should not be exceeded. b) ZEN BEI BUTOKU KAI In 2006 it was decided that ZEN AT BUTOKU KAI could use a modified version of the logo based on the original BUTOKUKAI INTERNATIONAL logo. Due to the parallelism of both logos, only one of the two logos is mandatory.

12) THE CLOTHING For official events and representation of KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI, the following dress code is established: a) Karate Belted white kimono b) Kobudo Like karate, alternatively a white jacket and black trousers with a belt c) Tai Chi/Chi Kung Taichi dress with Logo or teeshirt with logo.

13) LEGAL STATUS The KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI is legally integrated into the BUTOKUKAI GERMANY e.V. and represents international exchange there. The Branch Chiefs are therefore members of BUTOKUKAI GERMANY e.V. without voting rights. The BUTOKUKAI GERMANY e.V. is the business manager of the KOKUSAI BUTOKUKAI.

14) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION This status is already manifested in BUTOKUKAI GERMANY e.V. The non-profit status is regularly checked and confirmed by the tax office.
